Welcome to The Secret Hideout .com

Hi, my names Phil and this is my little home on the internet.

I first started this site many years ago, mainly as a place to host pictures for friends.  Its now developed into a site where I share my interests and love of bikes and cars.

I'm the owner of a 1981 Corvette, the car I'd always wanted since the age of 8.  It is in the process of being restored. I also own four motorcycles, including a Kawazaki GPz900 and a Honda Fireblade.

I live with Helen, who I have just married and then there's Max, our small green but very very noisy parrot.

On the site you'll hear me waffle on about things like my cars, bikes, her in doors and the parrot... Thats just for starters.   Oh and you'll occasionally hear from the missus, MrsC... she's got more rabbit than sainsburys... tescos... asda... you get the idea...

Thanks for popping by, hope to see you again soon.

 Corvette Aircon

On Four WheelsThe next thing on the list for the vette is the refitting of the sir conditioning. I managed to pick up a condenser, compressor and oneof the hoses in good condition for £40. The picked up a full set of brackets for £30 from corvette kingdom. This just leaves on hose to find, then installing it in the car and getting someone to gas it up. Then fingers crossed everything will work just fine.

 GPZ 900 Renovation

Two Wheels OnlyI've finally started on the renovation of the GPZ.

Jobs done so far:

Changed the front forks for a set from an A8 that i'd rebuilt with ohlins springs.
Cleaned and painted the front brake calipers then fitted them with goodridge hoses.
Painted the front fairing and rear subframe brackets in gloss black.
Replaced the old clutchline with a new goodridge hose
Rebuilt the top end on the spare engine i've got, including grinding in all valves.

Next up i'm planning on removing the old swinging arm and shock and replacing the with  a metmachex braced swinging arm and a hagon shock. Hopefully this will help improve on the bikes handling. Also once i've checked out the clutch and cleaned out the oil filters in the sump, i'll be fitting the new engine.

It's been far too long since i've been on this bike, so i'll be trying to get it finished in between doing the car and house. I've got to get it done soon, as Helen has been suggesting it would be nice to go out on the bike again. Now if only the weekend was a few days longer.

 The Garden Project

Well the better weather has arrived and we've both come out of hibernation.

The corvette is now taxed and back on the road after having new headlights fitted and some
broken wiring replaced... We're looking forward to enjoying days out and of course the smiles that the corvette
brings...

We've also made a start again on the garden project... it is proving a big task as Phil didn't really enjoy the garden and so it grew, and grew, and grew... When I moved in (May 2005), it was a jungle and as I love sitting outdoors, enjoying the garden as well as a large glass of wine.... I decided something needed to be done...

Over the coming months, I'll be posting updates as well as keeping a gallery on the progress...
